What are the building blocks for a future proof trade policy, which contributes to food and nutrition security and inclusive and sustainable development in LMICs, while also delivering on inclusive and sustainable development in the Netherlands?
This is the leading question of an informal network dialogue session, the first of a series of dialogues on Dutch agricultural policy with an international focus. These build on the earlier conversations with network partners on a Manifesto about the role of the Netherlands’ agriculture policy in the global landscape. NFP expects there is added value to broaden this debate to include a wider range of experts from different institutions and stakeholder groups.
The dialogue is expected to generate policy recommendations for the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature & Food Quality as well as for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while it is also meant to develop ideas for new or strengthened initiatives by stakeholders from private sector, civil society or knowledge institutes. NFP’s intention is to develop constructive policy suggestions that work in the context of the agenda of fostering the sustainability (economic, ecological and social) of food systems.
Stay tuned for more information and formal invitations to this dialogue, which we will share soon.
In the meantime, you can share your interest to join the dialogue series (December 2023 - February 2024) by filling in this form. We are excited to bring together a diverse group of experts and stakeholders to contribute to these critical discussions, and we look forward to your participation in shaping the future of Dutch agricultural policy on the global stage.
Note that venue will be communicated later.
