CGIAR System Organization

Ensuring Zero Hunger in 2030 requires complex food system transitions and a massive effort. The Netherlands and CGIAR are cooperating through a Strategic Partnership to contribute to the transformational change in food, land, and water systems around the world by advancing knowledge and mobilizing joint public and private innovation.

CGIAR is a global research partnership for a food secure future. Recently CGIAR has developed a new 10-year strategy with a fresh portfolio of Initiatives.

The Strategic Partnership is described in a Memorandum of Understanding that elaborates on the intent to collaborate in the achievement of common objectives.

The particular focus in the Strategic Partnership is attributed to domains where CGIAR and Dutch partners have complementary expertise and to promoting research impact through interdisciplinary research approaches, co-creation and downstream applied research partnerships, including with private sector and civil society organizations.

The NL-CGIAR Research Programme, where a second phase of instruments has just been announced, is one of the parts of the strategic partnership between the Government of the Netherlands and CGIAR and implemented by NWO-WOTRO.

Netherlands Food Partnership plays a key role in facilitating and coordinating the collaborative efforts between the Netherlands and CGIAR. Through this community page, we share key updates from CGIAR and the Strategic Partnership.
