E-course on Food Systems 2026

E-course on Food Systems 2026

For the 7th time in a row, Netherlands Food Partnership and Wageningen UR are organising an e-course on Food Systems. Thanks to the support from the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the e-course is free of charge. Read about the 2026 edition below!

Who is this e-course for?

It is designed for professionals active in Food and Nutrition Security programmes in low and middle income countries. The 2026 edition will take place between February 20 and March 27, 2026.

During this e-course, you can engage with hundreds of other professionals: policymakers from national governments, professionals working in development organisations, NGOs, private sector, and knowledge and education institutions from all over the world. Find out more in this 11 min teaser video.

New and optimised: options for collective learning

Many earlier participants appreciated the flexible set-up with self-paced learning, a wide choice of content and the weekly plenary webinars. This edition we optimised some of last year’s new features to guide collective learning for teams and organisations:

  • Learning routes for learners interested in different themes such as among others: socio-economics, food & nutrition security and biodiversity & environmental sustainability.
  • The option for teams and organisations to join the e-course and learn as a team, and to participate in a successive Team Training.

Follow-up Team Training

Back and optimised from last edition is the exciting in-depth Team Training. In this follow-up of the e-course you can join as a team, for example as co-workers or as partners in a specific intervention. For selected teams we offer the online e-course (Feb 20-March 27) followed by team training (4 sessions in April). The training covers topics such as: situation analysis (rich picture & stakeholder analysis); food system mapping; exploring leverage points and developing entry points for action. The training is specifically aimed at organisations, partnerships or other collaborations. Find out more in this 4m explainer video about the pilot in 2024.
