Nakuru's food systems partners reconvene to take stock On 7 and 8 October, the Netherlands Food Partnership (NFP), DanChurchAid (DCA), the Results for Africa Institute (RAI) and Nakuru County Government are convening the 2nd Nakuru County Food Systems Finance Learning Event in Nakuru, Kenya. Theme: From Commitments to Collective Action: Advancing Food Systems Transformation through Finance
The event builds on the first Nakuru County Food Systems Finance Learning Event (June 2026), which brought together government, financial institutions, development partners, investors, SMEs and community representatives to explore how finance can better support sustainable and inclusive food systems in Nakuru County. This work builds in turn on earlier groundwork laid by Foresight for Food. Their four-year Kenya programme, funded by the Dutch government through IFAD, formed the basis for the current partnership between NFP, DCA and RAI.
This second event will review progress made during the first 100 days since June, assess the status of commitments and recommendations from the first event, and reflect on progress and emerging opportunities under the Kabazi Model. It will also provide a platform to agree priority actions, responsibilities and measurable outcomes for the next 100 days, and to strengthen coordination and follow-up mechanisms among partners.
