Pitch Your Partnership
Pitch Your Partnership returns to World Food Day
Have a bold idea that just needs the right partners to have impact? Pitch Your Partnership is back at World Food Day 2026!
We are inviting changemakers, organisations and emerging partnerships to share an idea that brings different actors together around a shared food-system challenge. The submitters of selected proposals will be invited to take the plenary stage and deliver a powerful, 1-minute elevator pitch to the World Food Day audience.
This is your chance to spark new connections, share what you still need to be successful and explore what becomes possible through the right collaboration.
Bring your challenge. Bring your partnership idea. Take the stage.
The deadline for registration is 30 September 2026, end of day (CET). We will inform you of our selection by 9 October.
How it works
-
Check that you can take part
You MUST be available to deliver your elevator pitch in person at World Food Day, and you need to be registered for the event itself. Registration for World Food Day is separate from this form.
-
Submit your idea
Fill in the registration form with your challenge, the change you want to see, the partners you need and the support you are looking for. Eight short questions, each with a word limit.
-
Selection by NFP
A selection committee reviews every submission. We are looking for promising partnership ideas that can contribute to more sustainable and equitable food systems.
Eligibility requirements
Applications proceed to scoring when they meet the following basic eligibility requirements:
- address a food-system or food-security challenge;
- propose a partnership rather than only a standalone product, project or organisation;
- identify at least two relevant partners or stakeholder groups;
- include a meaningful role for stakeholders in a Low- or Middle-Income Country;
- provide enough information on the challenge, intended collaboration, expected impact and first steps; and
- confirm that the applicant is available to deliver an in-person elevator pitch at World Food Day.
Selection criteria
Eligible proposals will be assessed on the following selection criteria:
- Relevance and potential impact: Does the idea address a clearly defined food-system challenge, and could it contribute to meaningful change?
- Partnership potential: Is collaboration essential to the idea, and is it clear what different partners could achieve together?
- Stakeholder involvement and local ownership: Does the proposal involve relevant actors, with a meaningful role for stakeholders in a Low- or Middle-Income Country?
- Feasibility and readiness: Are the first steps realistic, and are the required partners, resources and support identified?
- Innovation and potential for learning: Does the idea offer a distinctive approach and opportunities for shared learning or wider application?
In making the final selection, the committee may also consider the overall diversity of the pitches, including geography, themes, stakeholder groups and perspectives.

Win the Pitch Your Partnership Award
The audience votes, and the winning idea receives the Pitch Your Partnership Award: up to approximately 40 hours of NFP partnership-development support, tailored to the needs and stage of development of your idea. This includes the following:
- Intake with NFP: A one-on-one session with one of our Partnership Builders to refine and sharpen your idea and prepare for the next step, with a focus on how it connects to broader food system transformation.
- Joint vision ideation and partnership development: Facilitated by a Partnership Builder, this session brings together initial relevant partners from the NFP network to co-create a shared ambition and outline for the potential partnership. This support focuses on developing partnerships, not on direct product funding.
- Matchmaking: Tailored connections with relevant partners from the NFP network who could support and strengthen your idea. Optional, based on needs.
- A World Food Day side session in 2027. Optional, based on needs.
What NFP offers and does not offer
The prize consists of tailored partnership-development support. This is not a standalone cash award, grant or commitment to fund a product, business, project implementation or operational costs. Selection does not guarantee that a partnership will be established, that additional funding will be secured, or that NFP will provide long-term support. The precise scope, timing and format of the support will be agreed with the selected applicant(s) and will depend on feasibility, partner commitment, available expertise and resources, and alignment with NFP's mandate.
Ready to pitch?
The call for submissions closes on 30 September 2026. Tell us about your challenge, the partners you need and the support that would move your idea forward.
