Bio‑Inputs for Sustainable Horticulture

Bio‑Inputs for Sustainable Horticulture

Biological Inputs include biofertilizers, bio stimulants, and biopesticides. In West Africa, these are increasingly recognised for improving soil health and crop resilience, offering an alternative to synthetic inputs. This is also urgent because of disruptions in the synthetic fertilizer markets and concerns about pesticide residues in food. Further scaling of bio inputs requires a whole systems approach and the involvement of all stakeholders.

NFP convenes a partnership to scale Bio‑Inputs

We are convening partners to accelerate the responsible scaling of biological inputs in West Africa. We aim to bring together Dutch and West African companies, public sector, knowledge institutes and civil society around this challenge. Scaling the use of bio inputs such as biofertilizers, bio stimulants, and biopesticides requires joint action.  The market for bio-inputs may benefit from targeting early adopters, enabling policies and attention in research & education.
