Call for candidates to conduct a synthesis study of the NL-CGIAR research programme on global food security

Requirements and deliverables

The experts will

1. synthesise the knowledge and learning of the Senior Expert Programme Phase II (SEP II) and the Knowledge Provision Grants (KPGs);
2. connect the knowledge and learning of the SEP II and the KPGs with the ongoing synthesis of the NL-CGIAR Water-Food Nexus call
3. organise cross-learning and knowledge exchange among programme grantees to facilitate new knowledge generation and deep learning;
4. work on knowledge facilitation and outreach with diverse stakeholders in the food and nutrition security field.

Candidates should have (among others) verifiable sound knowledge of the food and nutrition security field in the Global South and proven experience in interpreting and synthesising research results. Aside from conducting the synthesis study, the team will also be working on an outreach programme that confers the research results to a diverse audience of researchers, policy makers and practitioners.

Budget and deadlines

Expressions of interest need to be submitted by 7 September 2026. NWO will select a minimum of three suitable applications and invite those to submit a full response to the Terms of Reference for the synthesis study and knowledge facilitation. The study is expected to run from 2027 to 2030. The available budget is 120.000 euros ex. VAT.
