For those that like to look at impact numbers and want to understand what CGIAR is delivering as a key partner in Food Systems Transformation, this is for you!

The first-ever whole-of-CGIAR Impact Report (2022–2024) has just been released, providing a comprehensive look at the outcomes and impacts from across CGIAR’s global work. This report brings together evidence from CGIAR’s pooled-funded science portfolio, large bilateral projects, and earlier investments whose impacts became visible during this period.

The report highlights progress across CGIAR's five Impact Areas:

🌾 Nutrition, Health, and Food Security
💼 Poverty Reduction, Livelihoods, and Jobs
⚖️ Gender Equality, Youth, and Social Inclusion
🌱 Environmental Health and Biodiversity
🌍 Climate Adaptation and Mitigation

It also features results from CGIAR’s work across three key regions: Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, and Asia and the Pacific.

Key highlights from the report include:

  • 20 million farmers—around 4% of all smallholder farmers globally—using innovations from CGIAR’s 2022–2024 pooled-funded portfolio
  • 471 innovations in active use across multiple geographies and sectors
  • Over 300 policy changes shaped by CGIAR research evidence
  • US$3.3 billion in third-party investments guided by CGIAR knowledge, alongside 315 policy or organizational changes

These outcomes were made possible through collaboration with over 1,250 partner organizations across governments, civil society, the private sector, and research. As the NL-CGIAR Strategic Partnership, we remain as enthusiastic as ever to support building and strengthening partnerships that help deliver on CGIAR’s mission and that of their partners to strengthen the global effort towards more sustainable and equitable food systems.
