"Improved manure management is key element in resource use efficiency, prevention or mitigation of environmental problems and in the realization of sustainable profitable dairy farming systems." Says Naomi.

Naomi's passion lies in highlighting the importance of proper manure management for the enhancement of soil fertility and crop productivity. She firmly believes that many farms tend to neglect this crucial aspect, resulting in significant losses of the fertilization value of manure. Through her work, Naomi aims to create awareness among farmers about the value of manure and its potential impact on sustainable dairy farming systems.

At NEADAP, the project she is currently involved in improving manure management practices in East Africa. The team's approach involves creating awareness among farmers about the value of manure, demonstrating improved practices, and testing "easy-to-adopt" methods for both agronomic and economic benefits. By emphasizing the importance of proper manure management, Naomi and the team hope to contribute to the development of productive soils, increased crop and forage productivity, and ultimately, sustainable dairy farming systems in East Africa.
