Egyptian Agribusiness Leaders Explore Dutch Agri-Education Models in Study Tour

Visit to World Horti Center
From 15–17 October 2025, ten representatives from leading Egyptian agri-food companies took part in a study tour to the Netherlands. The visit was co-organised by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Cairo, the Netherlands Food Partnership (NFP), and HollandDoor, and forms part of a broader ambition to strengthen Egypt’s agricultural technical and vocational education and training (TVET) landscape through international cooperation.
Learning from the Dutch Model
The delegation engaged with a range of Dutch centres of excellence, exploring best practices in curriculum design, practical learning environments, internship integration, and public-private collaboration models. Key visits included:
World Horti Center – a hub for horticultural innovation and education.
Dutch Greenhouse Delta – exploring how high-tech greenhouse knowledge is scaled internationally.
Priva Academy – showcasing blended learning for agri-tech skills.
Samenwerkingsorganisatie Beroepsonderwijs Bedrijfsleven (SBB) – focusing on national frameworks and labour market alignment.
Lentiz, Zone College, Aeres, and Yuverta – TVET and applied science institutions offering insights into curriculum co-creation, lifelong learning, and student–industry linkages.
Each institution shared examples of how practical skills training is embedded in education pathways, ensuring that graduates are industry-ready and innovation-savvy.

Visit to SBB
A key moment was the network dinner hosted by NFP in The Hague, where the Egyptian delegation connected with Dutch stakeholders to explore future collaboration in green education and skills development.
The tour concluded with a wrap-up workshop, where participants presented their initial action plans. These highlighted shared ambitions to collaborate both among themselves and with Dutch partners on curriculum co-development, teacher training, applied research, and internship models tailored to Egypt’s agri-food context. Collaboration emerged as a central pillar for lasting impact.
