Netherlands Food Partnership has taken the initiative to set up a public private coalition to accelerate dairy development in East Africa. The coalition primarily contributes to sustainable transformation of the dairy sector in East Africa as well as creating business opportunities for the international and local private sector. The initial focus of the coalition is on Ethiopia, Kenya and Uganda. Based on the enthusiasm from stakeholders, we are moving forward to expand our outreach with more stakeholders in the three East African countries, and develop a shared view on priorities for the sector in each of the countries in scope. On 14 July, NFP hosted a well-attended online webinar where we introduced NFP, the dairy coaliton, and the process for agenda-setting that is coming up. As an immediate next step, a survey will be shared with stakeholders to obtain their input on priorities and their own role in shaping the sector.
