The e-course on food system transformation held its third webinar on March 8. The session was facilitated by Ir. Joost Guijt, Knowledge Manager at WCDI. Here you can watch the presentations by our two guest speakers: · The first presentation is by Dr. Chris Béné, Senior Policy Advisor at the Alliance of Bioversity and the International Centre for Tropical Agriculture (ABC). He is currently affiliated to the CGIAR Systems Transformation Science Group and seconded to the Wageningen Economic Research Group (WEcR) in the Netherlands. Chris shares his insights into the political economy of food systems and food systems governance. · The second presentation is by Dr. Rebecca Sarku, who is affiliated with the University of Leeds, University for Development Studies, the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, and ClimAgri-Food Consult. She is an expert in climate adaptation, climate information services, designing innovative governance arrangements, adaptive decision-making, and digital technologies for agriculture and sustainable food systems. Rebecca talks about top-down governance, barriers to information such as gender norms, expectations and patriarchal values. She dived deeper into informational governance and the accessibility gap, and how hybrid governance could work through multiplicity, intertwinement, public-private partnerships and coalescence with its respective implications.
